When Kevin called me up and told me about his plan for a surprise proposal to Adrian during their trip to Victoria, I knew we were going to have some fun. We coordinated everything to come off as a natural scenic walk after a nice dinner. Victoria tends to be a busy place on weekends so the initial plan was to go to the lower part of the breakwater at Ogden Point as it has much less traffic. I was in position, acting casual… change of plan! Thank goodness for texting. It was a pretty windy evening and Adrian had some fancy shoes that would not have been fun to attempt walking along the huge blocks of the lower breakwater. I told Kevin to keep walking to the end of the breakwater and then I booked it along the lower part ahead of them. It was potentially going to be a nightmare because of how busy the breakwater was. They arrived with me pretending to blend in and be a tourist… with some hefty camera gear. Kevin and I shared a discreet nod, waited for the perfect moment… he dropped to a knee, Adrian turned around… BOOM. She was surprised, shocked, thrilled, and said YES!
